Jaroslav’s father was an alcoholic who taught math and physics at an Austrian high school and later became an actuary in a bank. He died from alcohol abuse when his to-be famous son was only 13 years old. During the first 10 years of his life, Hašek moved seven times. The lazy and badly behaved Jaroslav also joined a gang.
